Hot tub cover maintenance: 3 simple steps for a long life

Our thermal covers leave the workshop with a premium, UV-stable and chemical-resistant upholstered skin, yet a few small acts of care will extend their life even further. If you want your new cover to look the same in ten years as it does today, take the following advice:
- 1
Air it out after shock chlorination
When you add chemicals — chlorine in particular — and start the jets, leave the spa uncovered for at least 20–30 minutes. The concentrated vapour released all at once attacks the underside of the cover aggressively over time.
- 2
Clean it regularly
Wash the outer surface now and then with clean, lukewarm water and a soft sponge to remove settled dust and debris falling from trees. Avoid harsh, abrasive scouring agents.
- 3
Clear the snow
In winter, do not leave a thick, wet layer of snow on the cover for days. The structure is strong, but sustained extra weight puts needless strain on the spine. Push the snow off gently with a soft-bristled broom.
